David Swanton

David Swanton has been making the drive down Town Street to Braintree High School for a long time now. He graduated from the high school in 1974, and has worked at his alma mater either as a teacher or administrator since 1980.

"Sometimes I joke that I've been here since I was 15 years old," Swanton said. Now it's officially his school. Swanton this week will start his 25th year at the high school with his name on the door of the headmaster's office. It's a move both Swanton and others in the school community say was a logical next step in his career. "It is natural progression," school committee Chairwoman Margaret Dunlea-O'Reilly said. "He's come up the ladder and this is the final step for him."
